If your solar bill, app or welcome email now says SunStrong Management, you are not alone. SunStrong is an asset manager that took over large groups of home solar accounts after SunPower, Sunnova and PosiGen failed. It says it manages more than 500,000 residential systems. This guide explains which customers SunStrong serves, which ones it does not, and the contact route that matches your contract.
SunStrong services leases that were signed with SunPower or Sunnova, and part of PosiGen's former portfolio. Its own customer service form says it does not provide maintenance for customers who own their system outright or who have a loan. If you lease, use SunStrong's account site or inquiry form. If you own or financed with a loan, your route is the equipment makers and a local service company.

SunStrong Management LLC is based in Austin, Texas. On its company page it describes itself as a full-service asset manager that is not tied to a company that sells or installs solar. It does not install systems. It manages the contracts and the systems behind them for the investors who own them.
SunStrong's company page lists the portfolios it has taken on: more than 110,000 former SunPower customers and assets in the third quarter of 2024, more than 400,000 former Sunnova customers and assets in the third quarter of 2025, and a portion of former PosiGen customers and assets in the first quarter of 2026. A September 2025 press release says the Sunnova portfolio came under SunStrong's management after Solaris Assets bought it out of Sunnova's bankruptcy, and that SunStrong is the manager, not the buyer.
Which customers SunStrong serves, and which it does not
This is the most important part, because it decides where you should call. SunStrong's support page says it services active solar and battery storage leases originated by Sunnova and SunPower and their affiliates.
Its customer service inquiry form says, in its own words, that "SunStrong does not provide maintenance services for Loan customers or customers who outright own their systems." The same page sends cash owners to a list of third-party service companies instead. The form's Original Provider list names GoodLeap, PosiGen, Sunnova and SunPower.
- You lease, or pay a monthly bill for the power (a PPA): SunStrong is likely your servicer. Use the contact routes below.
- You paid cash, or your contract is paid off: SunStrong says it will not maintain your system. Your panel and inverter warranties come from the manufacturers.
- You have a solar loan: your loan is with a lender, not SunStrong. SunStrong says it does not provide maintenance to loan customers either.

A lease or PPA usually has to be transferred to the buyer or paid off before closing, and the servicer has to approve the transfer. Start that request early, because servicers that have just absorbed hundreds of thousands of accounts can take weeks to respond. Ask SunStrong in writing for the transfer requirements and the payoff amount, and keep the reply for your agent and title company.
