Spruce Power: why it has your solar lease, and how to get help

Published November 3, 2026 · Facts checked against the companies' own pages on November 3, 2026

Spruce Power owns and services residential solar leases and power purchase agreements, many of them bought from the companies that originally sold them. If your bill now says Spruce, your contract was likely part of a portfolio Spruce acquired. Here is how to reach Spruce, what it handles, and what to do before you sell your home.

The short answer

Spruce's Homeowner Support Team (HOST) is at (888) 636-0336 or support@sprucepower.com, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 6 PM Central. Home sales, buyouts and lease changes each have their own request form on Spruce's contact page.

Who Spruce Power is

Spruce Power Holding Corporation is publicly traded (NYSE: SPRU) and lists its customer office at 820 Gessner Road in Houston, Texas. It owns home solar systems under lease and power purchase contracts and services them for the homeowners. It has grown by buying portfolios of existing contracts, for example nearly 9,800 New Jersey customers from NJR Clean Energy Ventures, announced November 25, 2024. If you signed with a different company, the contract and the system on your roof may now belong to Spruce.

If your system is not producing

Under a lease or PPA, the system usually belongs to the leasing company, so repairs are normally its responsibility under your contract. Check your agreement for the maintenance and performance guarantee sections. Then contact HOST with your service address, account number, what is wrong and since when, and monitoring screenshots if you have them. Keep a written record of every contact and the date.

Not sure what your contract promises?

Send us what your paperwork says and what is happening. We will tell you what is covered and who should fix it.

Selling a home with a Spruce lease

Spruce has a Home Sale request on its contact page. Start it as soon as you list. The buyer usually has to qualify to take over the lease, or you pay it off at closing. Ask for the transfer requirements and payoff amount in writing and share them with your agent and title company.
