If you bought a Sunnova Protect plan, no company has publicly claimed responsibility for it since the bankruptcy.
That is the honest answer, and it is the first thing on this page because you should not have to scroll for it. Below is exactly who says what, what your equipment warranties still cover, and the one thing worth doing this week.

We could not identify any company that publicly confirms it administers Sunnova Protect today. That is not the same as saying your plan is void, and we will not tell you it is. It means nobody has said who stands behind it.
What Sunnova Protect was
Sunnova launched Protect in November 2018 as a service only warranty. It was sold to homeowners who owned their systems outright, including people whose systems were not installed by Sunnova. It came in three tiers at five, ten and twenty year terms, and covered monitoring, maintenance and repair.
That last detail is why the current situation matters. Protect was sold to owners. The company now servicing former Sunnova accounts says in writing that it does not serve owners.
Your equipment warranties are a separate question
Protect was a service plan. It is not the same thing as the warranty on your hardware, and the hardware warranties did not go anywhere. Equipment warranties are obligations of the company that manufactured the equipment, not of Sunnova.
- Panels remain a claim against the panel manufacturer.
- Microinverters and batteries made by Enphase remain covered. Enphase has confirmed in writing that its limited warranty continues on former Sunnova systems.
- A battery from another maker, such as Tesla or FranklinWH, is that manufacturer's obligation.

The production guarantee is gone, and almost nobody was told
Sunnova sold systems with a production guarantee. In June 2026, the ratings agency Fitch reported that the loan level production guarantee was a corporate obligation of Sunnova Energy Corporation, that it did not survive the bankruptcy, and that the buyer did not assume it.
If your system underproduces, there is no longer a corporate guarantee behind that promise. We are telling you this plainly because the alternative is you finding out when you try to claim.
Parts are covered. Labor usually is not.
This is the part that costs people money and it is written down nowhere obvious. If an Enphase microinverter fails, Enphase sends the replacement part under warranty. Somebody still has to get on your roof and fit it, and Enphase covers that labor only for customers enrolled in its paid Care plan.
The company that would once have done that work for free was your installer. If they are gone, that bill is yours.
What to do this week
- Ask for written confirmation of your Protect plan status and who administers it. Put the request in writing and keep the reply.
- Find out what is actually on your roof. Panel brand, inverter brand, install date. Your warranty terms run from that date and most people do not have it.
- Get access to your own monitoring account, then find out whether your system is producing what it should.
